| Puppy Training: |
| People often wonder how early they can start training their puppy. Training can, and should, begin as soon as you bring your new puppy home. The longer you wait to train your puppy, the more you have to “untrain” unwanted behaviors. Starting early with basic commands and management techniques will help you and your puppy down the right path for a long life together. Out N’ About Dog Training offers two different programs to assist with puppy training. If your puppy is between the ages of 8-16 weeks of age, you can attend a 6 week Puppy Pre-School group class. APPLICATION This class uses positive reinforcement techniques and teaches basic obedience commands that include walking on leash without pulling, sit, down, coming when called, and watch me (gaining and retaining your puppy’s attention). Presentations will also be given on jumping, chewing, biting, housetraining, body handling, teeth cleaning, grooming, basic nutrition, and nail trimming. Most importantly, this class offers off-leash puppy play and socialization time. Puppies must have at least two rounds of vaccinations prior to starting the class. Proof of vaccinations required at orientation. Classes will be held at Camp Bow Wow, a premier doggy day care and boarding facility. www.campbowwow.com/elcajon If the group class environment does not fit into your schedule, or your puppy is too old for the class, Out N’ About Dog Training offers private training in the comforts of your home. All topics presented in the group class will be covered, but in a timeframe that fits your schedule. Comments from graduates of the Puppy Pre-School: I liked the idea of clicker training because it really helped the training get started. The class helped Tank improve every week and I’ve noticed he is far more advanced than other puppies his age. The instructor worked very well with the pups! We had fun and Tank has improved greatly, than you! -Priscilla and Tank - April and Leroy Thank you very much for the class. My dog is well behaved and very responsive to commands.
